Natural State Series: The Arnberger Family
The Arnberger family loves to get out into nature. However, with two adults and two elementary aged kids, getting ready to camp used to be an all day ordeal.
“We were big tent camping folks,” Samuel said. “It would take a full day to get the camping stuff down from the attic, go through it all, and then do the jig saw puzzle game of loading it into the truck.”
Because of the amount of effort, the family would make sure to camp four to five days at a time. This made scheduling difficult and trips infrequent.

Samuel spent an entire year researching alternatives to tent camping. First, he looked at rooftop tents but found them to be too small for his family. With a 11 year old and a 7 year old, space is important.
He then delved into the world of truck campers and found Tune Outdoor just six months after our launch. The build quality, reviews and aesthetics were exactly what the family was looking for. Plus, the king size sleeping area was spacious enough for the whole family.
During this year-long research process, the Arnberger family set out on a tent camping trip during kids’ and Michelle’s spring break. Right after they returned from their trip, Michelle learned that her doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer. In 2024, Michelle and her family stopped camping and put getting a Tune M1 on hold. They wanted to focus on her health and recovery during treatment.
Eventually, the family decided they needed to get back into nature. They placed their deposit for a Tune M1, and they set the install date for exactly one year after Michelle’s diagnosis.
“The timing was just crazy,” Samuel said.

The family spent time prepping their Toyota Tundra and made the drive to Tune Outdoor's HQ in Denver, Colorado. They customized their build with a propane tank and mount, insulation pack, Maxxair fan, a solar port and the Tune M1 starter pack. After their install, they took a quick spring break trip with ease and had plenty of living space for all four of them.
Michelle still has a few more treatments to go, so the Tune M1 helps them get out more frequently with less effort. Their daughter prefers to camp in remote places, and their Tundra truck camper makes that accessible. One of their favorite trips was camping outside Big Lake, Arizona. They heard wolves at night while sleeping safely in the Tune M1.
“The ease of camping now is so much better,” Michelle said. “It’s comfortable and it’s much easier to do with the kids.”
Samuel loves that he’s still able to use the truck as a daily driver. He takes it to his kids’ soccer practices and relaxes in the back while watching them through the canopy windows.
Michelle should be finished with her treatments this year. In the meantime, the family hopes to make memories in the Tune M1 and tune into their natural state with ease.
